Clara discovered this when she got home from school today. A praying mantis laying an egg case. Cool! A quick google search revealed that, once she's finished, the egg case will hatch 100-400 little darlings that will gobble up any evil doer bugs in our garden.

I've been seeing a lot of praying mantises around here .. they're very active suddenly. Hard to believe they're protected, as many as I've seen!
