I heart Ikea

Some of what we've been up to...this past weekend we made the pilgrimage to Ikea to worship the mighty meatballs with lingonberry sauce and buy some cool stuff. It's always fun to go in with a penciled list of things to look for and see what ends up coming home with us. Jake and Emma elected to stay home so we took the smaller van (7 seats) and managed to cram in eight (count 'em--eight!) bookshelves (original price $70, marked down to $20, or something like that), a new bed and mattress for Abie, a cool hanging lamp for the girls' room, new curtains and rods for our room, a highchair for Lydia (got rid of Ben's when we moved), two new sets of those great rainbow cups for the kids and various other nifty things and treats.

Oh, hang on. I almost forgot. A big, round, furry red blowup hassock thing. Can't live without one of those. The bookcases are an attempt to make the multitude of toys look a little nicer in the sunroom. I'll post a picture when we're finished arranging them, if they look good. If they look dumb, you'll be none the wiser.

Sunday was Father's Day and breakfast in bed took so long to cook that it ended up being Brunch at the Table. Lots of yummy treats for The Dad of it All, and an afternoon at the mall so that Clara could use some of the gift cards that she has accumulated and Jake could get a haircut. What? You heard it right. Jake got a regular haircut with the promise that he can dye his hair some odd color once his senior portraits are taken in early July. Oy. Actually, make that OY! OY! OY!
