This morning we are off to have an x-ray taken of Emma's knee and blood work done. She woke up at five in the morning yesterday unable to move her leg without pain in her knee. The doctor felt some fluid around her knee, but nothing major and no obvious bruising, redness or heat.
She did fall down the night before when all of the kids were out in the yard enjoying the wonderful warm weather we have been having this week. But nothing that made her cry or kept her from getting back up and running around some more. Also, last week she had a virus that sent her temp up to scary heights for about 36 hours, so they want to see if the virus is irritating her joint, though the doctor said she would expect to see more swelling or redness, if that was the case.
Her school is muchly unhappy that this is happening at the same time as state assessment testing. Sorry.

Good thoughts to Emma today. Hope that all turns out ok.
BTW, when did school become more about one particular test, and not about the well-being and overall wholeness of the children?
I suppose that's a whole 'nother blog post. :)
Ouchie. There's really not much that keeps kids from getting up and running around when friends are near.
Hope she takes it easy long enough for it to heal up a little.
Weird about her knee. Hope they figure it out. Pooh on the darn tests. ;)
