as Jake used to say
when he was a wee little boy,
"Happy Fortune O'Ly!"
We still say it because we like it so.
Around our house today: sewing new kitchen curtains, general straightening up and waiting to see if anyone is going to be feverish so that we can decide what we're doing tonight. Emma was sick yesterday but seems to be better today, so far. The choices for tonight are to drive about 20 minutes into crowds for fabulous fireworks or see what our pyromaniac neighbors will set off. Last night it sounded like they dropped a lit match into the back of a pickup truck full of firecrackers. No lights but lots of loud popping. For a long time. A really long time. Ah, the country.
